Who or What Shapes Your Life

This blog covers thoughts, writings, and recommendations on what or who influences your life.

Quality of Life Basics

Life is driven by our thoughts with knowledge of eight basic elements.  These elements will pave a path to success and fulfillment and change the course of our lives unlocking overlooked potential.

  1. The first element is “we become what we think about” as expressed by Earl Nightingale in his recording the “The Strangest Secret.”  The thoughts in our minds have the power to shape our reality and determine our success or failure in life.  Our thoughts act as the seeds of our actions.  The Biblical proverb (Prb 4:23  TEV) states the same idea as “Be careful how you think, your life is shaped by your thoughts.”
  2. The second element of success is achieving goals and expending the effort needed.  Part of that effort is continuous learning which enhances our understanding to overcome challenges and seize opportunities.
  3. The third element is clear and compelling goals requiring relentless effort to achieve the goal or goals.  Goals provide focus in the daily flurry of events.
  4. The fourth element is the power of attitude.  Our attitudes, whether positive or negative, play a pivotal role in shaping our experiences. A positive attitude not only attracts positivity in our lives but also allows us to face challenges with resilience and determination. Conversely, a negative attitude creates a self-fulfilling prophecy of failure and discontent.
  5. The fifth element is being thankful for all the blessing in life.  Being thankful takes control of thoughts and will transform our lives in miraculous ways.
  6. The sixth element is determining your central life purpose.  Life purpose should have parts of character and principle so you become the best version of yourself as you accomplish your goals. It can be simply know, love, serve God or taking care of my family.
  7. The fourth element is knowing a higher authority or Almighty God.  The “Twelve Step Process” written by Bill Wilson firmly establishes the need and benefit of having this element in fighting addiction.  This element is stressed in religious training but is often dismissed in the chaos of living.
  8. The eighth element is service to others.  It is often recognized as a major factor in an individual’s overall happiness and contentment.  Service to others paves the way to success and provides a ripple effect in motivating others.
