Do not miss the point as Nicodemus did in both Christian and secular life.
Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a member of the Jewish ruling Sanhedrin council. He was an educated teacher in a position of power and great influence. Yet Nicodemus failed to understand what Christ told him that he must be born again.
Nicodemus did not understand Christ was not speaking of a physical rebirth but a rebirth of the human heart by the Spirit of God. This subject of mental rebirth was not a new subject in the Bible. Proverbs 4:23 states “Be careful how you think, your life is shaped by your thoughts.” The KJV states Proverbs 4:23 as “Keep your heart with all diligence, for our of it are the issues of life.”
Many authors and teachers have restated Proverbs 4:23 in different ways. Earl Nightingale wrote “You become what you think about.” James Allen wrote “As a man thinketh so he is.”
What is surprising is that Nicodemus did not understand being “reborn” and that you must be transformed to love God and others, to have compassion and gratitude, to be forgiving and be of service others.
In a secular life you must be reborn from a negative attitude to a positive one. Reborn from a lack of goals to one of positive worthwhile goals. You must pay the price of hard work and effort knowing you reap what you sow.
Knowing Almighty God as a higher authority with a mental or spiritual rebirth will bring you great benefits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Be a blessing and become a better version of yourself.
